JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) Foundation proudly hosted its 24th annual Pillars of Giving event on September 5, honoring the impact of philanthropy on local healthcare. Set in the serene JRMC Healing Gardens, the event celebrated the donors whose generosity supports quality, compassionate care in the region.

The evening served as a tribute to those who have played a pivotal role in advancing healthcare at JRMC. The foundation expressed gratitude to the many donors who have gone above and beyond to make a difference. The Pillars of Giving event also featured the announcement of the 2024 philanthropic award recipients.

Mike and Marilyn Smyth were recognized as Philanthropists of the Year, an award given to those making a significant impact on patient care. The Smyths recently established an endowment supporting the JRMC Cancer Center and Family BirthPlace.

The Outstanding Seedling Award was presented to Lucas and Brittni Rodin of Rodin Racing. The couple raised nearly $4,000 for the Cancer Center through an auction at the racetrack, exemplifying the beginning of their philanthropic journey with JRMC.

The Community Difference Partner of the Year award went to the Individuals Motorcycle Club. The club, in collaboration with the Harley Owners Group, has raised tens of thousands of dollars through its Polar Pig event to benefit JRMC’s hospice care program.

“The Pillars of Giving event was more than just an evening of recognition — it was a reminder of the incredible generosity that flows through this community,” said JRMC Foundation Director Tonya Perkins. “Each donation, no matter the size, directly contributes to the health and well-being of our patients. We are grateful for every individual who has chosen to invest in our mission.”

A moving highlight of the evening came from Dr. Teree Rittenbach, who shared the story of her mother’s journey at JRMC, highlighting the compassionate care her family received. Her words underscored the lasting impact of the medical center’s supporters on patients’ lives.

JRMC President and CEO Mike Delfs also praised the community’s support, stating, “Our donors’ support empowers us to provide exceptional care and drive innovation. Together, we are making a lasting impact on countless lives.”

The Pillars of Giving event remains a cornerstone of the JRMC Foundation’s efforts, ensuring the medical center can meet future healthcare needs. The foundation welcomes continued involvement from the community. More information on how to support JRMC is available at jrmcnd.com/giving
