VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Despite not winning a set during the season, Concordia was not about to roll over and play dead for Valley City State.

The Cobbers won the second set after being blistered in the first, then took the third to the wire before the Vikings edged out the third set and took the fourth in a 3-1 (25-12, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16) win at the W. E. Osmon Fieldhouse Tuesday night.

Concordia used their defense to stop a strong attacking game from four players that finished in double figures with kills.

Morgan Freije led the effort in the late third to turn the tide in the match on her way to a 12 kill, five block performance, hitting .600 on the night.

Macy Fridgen led the way with 14 kills.  Danielle Hagler added 12 kills, and Emma Lucas knocked down 11.  Sadie Hansen recorded 46 saves in the effort.

The Vikings play at Morningside in their next matchup this Friday.
