JAMESTOWN – In volleyball, the margin can often be paper-thin.  That was the case for an entire great match in Jamestown’s home opener.

The Blue Jays fell to Legacy in a gripping five-setter Tuesday at Jerry Meyer Arena 25-22, 24-26, 25-20, 24-26, 16-14.

After falling behind by big margins in the first and third sets, Jamestown (6-3, 1-2 WDA) rallied to make both scores close.  Also, the Blue Jays forced wins in the second and fourth sets with good aggression.

For Legacy (4-5, 2-1), McKenna Bender scored 18 kills.  Cambree Folk and Marlee Falson each had 10 kills.  Brooklyn Felchle had eight kills and three and a half blocks.  Jenny Celley had 48 assists and Avery Will had 26 digs.

Lucy Falk had 14 kills for the Blue Jays, along with three blocks and 19 digs.  Leah Trumbauer also had 14 kills, with four aces and 15 digs.  Mari Anderson scored 12 kills and three blocks.  Edie Hegerle had 49 assists and 21 digs.  Jetta Peterson led Jamestown with 22 digs.

Jamestown will host Mandan on Thursday at Jerry Meyer Arena.  Coverage will begin at around 6:45 PM on The Voice of the Blue Jays, Jamestown 107.1.
