FULTON, MO – William Woods held a 3-1 halftime lead and held on in men’s soccer to defeat the University of Jamestown Sunday 3-2 at the North Campus Athletic Complex.
Breck McGrail turned a giveaway into the first goal for William Woods (3-1-2) in the ninth minute.
Jake Simson evened the match for the Jimmies (1-3-1) with his fifth goal, set up by Kaiden Blanchard, in the 28th minute.
William Woods took control with goals by David Fink in the 32nd minute and Omar Murillo in the 35th and the Owls led 3-1 at halftime.
Oscar Salgado scored his third goal for Jamestown in the 81st minute, but he and Simson missed chances for equalizers in the last five minutes. Charlie Clark made four saves in net.
The Jimmies’ next match will be Saturday against Doane in Crete, Nebraska.
