FAYETTE, MO – Fourth-ranked Central Methodist took a lead with two first-half goals and defeated the University of Jamestown Saturday in women’s soccer 3-1 at Davis Field.

Kirstine Lykke scored in the 17th and 27th minutes as the Eagles (5-0-1) led 2-0 at halftime.

Gaby Sarkis, set up by Kyah Gabel, scored for the Jimmies (1-1-0) in the 56th minute, but Lykke scored again in the 74th minute in the final margin.

Bre Oettle shot on goal in the 81st minute, but was stopped by CMU keeper Madison Priebe.  Clara Pelegrina was then stopped by Priebe in the 89th minute.

CMU outshot Jamestown 19-13 and 9-5 on goal.

Isa Garcia made six saves for the Jimmies in net.

Jamestown will meet William Woods University Sunday in Fulton, Missouri.
