THOMPSON- In just their second match of the 2024 season, the Carrington Cardinals Volleyball team sent a loud, clear message to Class B.
“North Dakota, you have a problem”
Behind fourteen kills from Calleigh Hewitt, 23 assists, seven kills and four digs from senior co-captain Isabel Wendel, and balanced defensive play, the Cardinals swept Thompson on the Tommies home court Thursday night with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-20 win on the road.
Carrington jumped out to leads in every set, including 10-2 in the opener as Edyn Hoornaert amassed seven kills and two blocks, much of which came early and set the tone. Brynn Smith added fifteen assists for the Cardinals (2-0).
