JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Parks and Recreation will host its final Community Bike Ride of the summer on Sunday, September 8, beginning at 3:45 p.m. at McElroy Park. Participants are invited to join the ride, which a free snack and social gathering will follow.
The event is part of a series of Community Bike Rides organized this summer, with assistance from volunteers with the Jamestown Bike Riders Advocacy Group. Previous rides included one near the Two Rivers Activity Center, featuring a route through the Hillcrest Athletic Complex trails, and another in the southwest area of Jamestown around Meidinger Park.
For those without a bike, the community bike fleet will be available at the event, providing bikes and helmets for participants.
Looking ahead, the advocacy group plans to host a community input meeting this fall or winter to discuss ways to make Jamestown neighborhoods safer and more accessible for non-motor vehicles, such as bicycles.
