Lisbon, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornados got off and running on Tuesday with a sweep of the Lisbon Broncos winning 25-15, 25-17, and 25-14.

The match started off with Oakes jumping out to an early set 1 lead of 10-5 which they’d never look back and keep building that lead up throughout the rest of the set ending up winning 25-15.

The 2nd set saw Lisbon take a quick 2-1 lead however that’d be flipped around to a 10-2 Tornado lead. Lisbon wouldn’t go quietly as they’d battle it back to a 14-13 deficit before Oakes found their 2nd gear and brought their lead back to 19-13. Oakes would take the set 25-17.

Set 3 once again saw the Broncos take a 4-1 lead early. Oakes would battle back to a 7-7 tie and take a 8-7 lead which they wouldn’t give up for the rest of the set. They’d score 9 straight to take a 16-7 lead. The match would end with a 25-14 set victory.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Brianna Schmitz. She’d end the night with a double-double with 10 kills and 11 assists.

Next up for  the Tornadoes is traveling up to New Rockford-Sheyenne on Thursday September 5th. The next game you can hear on KDDR will be September 10th when they travel to Milnor to take on Sargent County.
