Sharon Kinney, age 92, of Valley City, ND died Thursday, August 29th at CHI Mercy Hospital in Valley City.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 6th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the church.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.  An online guestbook and livestream of Sharon’s service will be available at www.lerudmathias.com

Sharon Marie Miller, the daughter of John and Alice (Kreidlkamp) Miller, was born March 24, 1932 in Valley City, ND.  Sharon attended Getchell School and graduated from St. Catherine’s Catholic High School in 1950.  She married Kenneth Kinney on March 5, 1951 in Valley City.  The couple had five children, Peggy, Dean, Jeff, Robin and Chris.  Sharon worked with her family on the farm as a young girl a homemaker for her family and later volunteered at the Nearly Nu Store and the ARC Thrift Store until the age of 83. 

Sharon is survived by her children, Peggy (Dale) Gaasland, Dean (Sheila) Kinney, Jeff (Julie) Kinney, Robin Kinney and Chris Kinney; her grandchildren, Eric Gaasland, Kristian Gaasland, Royce (Kaneia) Kinney, Jonathon Kinney and Stephanie Kinney; great-grandchildren, Tessa and Deanna Kinney and Austin and Alexus Kinney.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother and a sister.
