BISMARCK – In the first of two trips this week to the capital city, Jamestown Blue Jay Volleyball looked solid in the WDA opening match.

Jamestown defeated St. Mary’s Tuesday in four sets (25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 25-17) at the Main Gym at St. Mary’s Central High School.

Leah Trumbauer led Jamestown (6-1, 1-0) with 17 kills and also had a block, an ace and 10 digs.  Lucy Falk had 12 kills, an ace, a half block and two digs.  Mari Anderson had seven kills, an ace, four blocks and three digs.  Amelia Newman scored six kills, a half block and 12 digs.

Jetta Peterson led defensively with 27 digs.  Edie Hegerle had 42 assists as well as two aces.

The Blue Jays will return to Bismarck Thursday to play Bismarck High.
