ST. CLOUD, MN (NewsDakota.com) – Coborn’s, Inc., the parent company of Coborn’s and Cash Wise Foods, is renewing its commitment to honor the sacrifices of Veterans and First Responders by partnering with the Folds of Honor Foundation throughout September. The initiative aims to raise funds to provide educational scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders, a media release states.
As part of the campaign, customers shopping at Coborn’s and Cash Wise grocery and liquor stores can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar, with the difference being donated to Folds of Honor. Additionally, guests can make direct monetary donations in $1, $5, and $10 increments at checkout. All contributions will fund scholarships for local families impacted by the loss or injury of military personnel or first responders.
“The courage displayed by these men and women, who are part of our very own communities, is awe-inspiring. Our gratitude can never fully match their sacrifice,” a media release states. Coborn’s Inc. will be supporting Folds of Honor for the second year, building on a partnership that has already made a significant difference in the lives of those who have served.
Folds of Honor, established in 2007 by decorated F-16 fighter pilot Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney, has awarded over 52,000 scholarships totaling around $244 million. In 2022, the organization expanded its mission to include America’s first responders, including police, fire, EMTs, and paramedics.
Lieutenant Colonel Rooney emphasized the impact of the partnership, noting that the collaboration will raise awareness and increase funding for scholarships. “Together we will meet sacrifice with hope,” he stated in the release.
