VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Josh Johnson said we have had a great first week of school.

Johnson said last spring, we had projected enrollment of 935 students in grades K-12 for the 2024-2025 school year. As of Friday, August 23rd, we have 945 students enrolled for the beginning of the school year. The first day of school enrollment numbers are attached below.

Valley City Public Schools now has a School Nurse that is provided through a program with City-County Health. Ms. Amanda Nielson has been our School Nurse for the past several years, Johnson said. She is awesome and supports our students in a variety of ways, including immunization records, medications, illnesses, injuries, flu clinics, etc.

He said while Ms. Nielson is part-time with our school district; she is around the schools every day and available for students as needed. Ms. Nielson can be contacted through the school offices at Jefferson, Washington, or VCHS.
