VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Thursday, August 29, The Valley City Public Works Department will be doing its annual cleaning of the master lift station. Work will begin at around 8:30pm and takes 6-8 hours to complete.

Cleaning takes place in the overnight hours as the peak flows for the station have passed and flows are relatively low during the overnight hours. Cleaning requires the station to be completely shut off, with the station off, it gives public works a 4-5 hour window before the station needs to be turned back on and sewage pumped out of the system.
