DUNSEITH, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The ND Highway Patrol on Sunday, Aug 25, identified three people, including a Jamestown man, who were injured in a single-vehicle rollover at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, about 2 miles west of Dunseith.

The patrol said Vincent Peltier, 22, Devils Lake, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado east on U.S. Highway 281 with four passengers — Lance Nadeau, 27, Jamestown, Vance Nadeau, 23, Dunseith, JoMarie Lavallie, 18, Dunseith, and a 1-year-old Dunseith girl.

The patrol said that for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the south ditch. The patrol said the driver overcorrected, causing the car to cross both lanes and enter the north ditch where it rolled and came to rest on its wheels facing south.

Multiple passengers were ejected from the vehicle and all four passengers were injured. The patrol said all vehicle occupants were not wearing seat belts.

All occupants were transported to Quentin N. Burdick Hospital in Belcourt. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, multiple passengers were later life-flighted to Trinity Hospital in Minot and Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Charges are pending against the driver. The crash remains under investigation by the ND Highway Patrol.
