JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com/VNL) – A Jamestown woman faces a terrorizing charge after allegedly threatening to shoot her boss at Menards with an AR-15 rifle, according to court documents.

Marilyn Kay Hetletvedt was reportedly upset over the company’s decision to reduce workers’ hours and wages due to declining revenue. Feeling targeted by the cuts, Hetletvedt allegedly told a coworker she was going to “go home and get her AR and come back and show him,” referring to her manager, the documents state.

The coworker reported the threat to the manager, who then contacted police, expressing fear for his safety. He also provided officers with two Facebook photos posted by Hetletvedt, one showing her holding what appeared to be an AR-15 and the other a revolver.

Hetletvedt was terminated from her job at Menards and issued a no-trespass order for the property.

Officers later located Hetletvedt’s vehicle in a Hugo’s parking lot and arrested her inside the store. According to the documents, Hetletvedt admitted to making the remarks but claimed they were made in jest, saying, “It was probably a bad joke.”

Hetletvedt’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 18, with a jury trial set to begin on December 26. If convicted, she faces a mandatory minimum of two years in prison and could receive up to five years and/or a $10,000 fine.
