VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Just a reminder about city street projects that are occurring around Valley City High School and the Hi Liner Activity Center.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said the construction on these roads will impact traffic flow at VCHS before, during, and after school. Our activities and events at the HAC will also be impacted by this street construction. Please be prepared for and expect that there will be traffic congestion around VCHS at the beginning of this school year. We kindly ask that you decrease your speed and pay extra attention to students around VCHS and the HAC. We have been informed that these projects will continue into the beginning of October.
Johnson added, we encourage you to not travel down roads that are dead ends or are partially blocked (4th Street NW by HAC and 2nd Avenue NW West side of VCHS.) While the 2ndAvenue NW is open for a short distance west of VCHS, it will require you to drive through the courthouse parking lot. We recommend that you drop off and/or pick up on the north side of school (5th Street) or plan to meet your student a block or so away from VCHS. Please do not drop off or plan to pick up your student before or after school on Central Avenue at VCHS, this is a reserved lane for our school buses after 7:30 AM and before 4:00 PM on school days.
The first day of school for VCPS students is Wednesday, August 21st.
