VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – This school year, Valley City High School will be partnering with medical providers in the region to provide a Virtual Health Access Room at VCHS for 7-12 students to complete medical or health-related appointments “virtually” from the south office of VCHS.

Superintendent Josh Johnson said this pilot program will allow students to have a virtual appointment with their provider without leaving school, thus reducing classroom absences and the burden for some parents to transport their child to and from these appointments.  Currently, we can only provide this option to students and parents that are with Essentia Health.  We hope that others will soon see this as an opportunity for their patients that are students at VCHS.

Johnson said if you haven’t completed the required paperwork with Essentia Health and VCHS, but would like to do so for your student, please look for an email coming to the VCHS 7-12 parent listserv from Alyssa Miller.  The required paperwork and forms from Essentia Health will need to be completed prior to your child having an appointment in the Virtual Health Access Room.  If you have any questions, please contact Courtnie Fick at courtnie.d.fick@k12.nd.us or 701.845.0483.
