WEST FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – August 24th and 25th marks the 54th year Bonanzaville has held an annual “Pioneer Days” celebration. Bonanzaville opened its historic pioneer village in 1968, and the “Pioneer Days Review” (its first name) became its first mission-focused large public event in 1970. The celebration was held in Davenport, ND, a few years prior to its move to Bonanzaville when its huge popularity called for a larger space to hold the event.
Two days full of living history- Costumed- Interpreters, historic crafts, demonstrations- Horse-drawn wagon rides- food and fun. Live music filles the event center each afternoon, guests can dance the afternoon away while snacking on sweet treats. Kids can make butter in the creamery or a pioneer toy in the church basement, play pioneer games at the school, or compete in a pedal tractor pull!  Sunday, a free will pancake breakfast and pioneer church service start the day! The Cass County North Dakota Historical Society (CCNDHS) is the cultural institution in charge of telling the county’s story, as well as preserving and collecting artifacts connected to the county’s history. CCNDHS owns and operates a museum, event center, and prairie village that sits on twelve acres of land in West Fargo, North Dakota called Bonanzaville.
Bonanzaville includes a large main museum, thirty-six historic buildings, a carriage house, a car museum, an air museum, a tractor museum, an agricultural museum, and a law enforcement museum.
