OMAHA, NE – University of Jamestown Women’s Soccer broke a goalless draw with two strikes in the second half Sunday in a 2-0 win over College of St. Mary at Heritage Park.
Though UJ out shot CSM 8-1 and had five corner kicks to the home team’s one in the first half, those 45 minutes were scoreless.
Only 22 seconds into the second half, Alyssa Caton, set up by Bre Oettle, fired the opening goal into the lower right corner. Eve Hoppe, with another Oettle assist, made the Jimmie lead 2-0 in the 63rd minute.
Hoppe and Gaby Sarkis had four shots on goal each. Caton and Sidney Mikes each had one.
Isa Garcia played the first 84 minutes in goal and made two saves. Allyson Johnson played the last six minutes.
On Wednesday, UJ will play Central Christian in McPherson, Kansas.
