At the time of this report things are up in the air as it pertains to the catfish down in the waters of the Red River. We had a huge cold front last weekend that has slowed the bite some. The pattern remained mostly the same as during the warmer days before, fishing smaller holes but just on the light side of the current. However, sit times went back up to 25 to 30 minutes. Keep at it and move around as needed and you would put together a solid day.

Wednesday was by far the best morning until about 1 pm, then everything shut down. As of this writing early Thursday, Grand Forks had 2.5 inches of rain, and it is still coming down. The effects on our catfish from this second harsh front will probably linger for a few days after the rain. It is all speculation now, but we will probably be fishing fairly shallow and out of the current for a couple days to let the negative fish find the bait. Each day they should come back to the bite we had been on but expect to grind for a few days to catch your cats.

Two or three days dead sucker or frogs are the clear bait winners at this time, and it depends on what they want on any particular day. August is sold out but I have days available in September. Call or text 701-739-5808 for information or to
book.
