LISBON, N.D. (NDHP) – 67-year-old Jerry Rufsvold of Lisbon died of injuries suffered in a three-vehicle crash that was reported on Tuesday, August 6th about five miles west of Lisbon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) says a Toyota Camry stopped facing south on State Highway 32, waiting to turn left onto another road when a Honda Civic traveling southbound rear-ended the Toyota, pushing the Toyota into the northbound lane where it was then struck head-on by a northbound Chevy Cruze.

Rufsvold was transferred to Sanford Hospital in Fargo by Sanford AirMed with life-threatening injuries and died a few days later.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda Civic, 37-year-old Amber Patel of Oakes was charged with DUI and criminal vehicular homicide. The driver of the Chevrolet Cruze, 21-year-old Jacob Urbach of Lisbon was not hurt in the crash.
