CASSELTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A new soybean processing plant is set to open in Casselton, North Dakota, promising economic growth and increased opportunities for local farmers.

North Dakota Soybean Processors (NDSP) will celebrate the completion of the facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The plant, a joint venture between CGB Enterprises and Minnesota Soybean Processors, is expected to process 42.5 million bushels of soybeans annually, producing soybean oil, meal, and hulls.

“We’re keeping 42 million bushels of North Dakota soybeans in North Dakota,” said Jeramie Weller, CEO of Minnesota Soybean Processors. “This will provide better returns for area farmers.”

The plant is expected to create new jobs and boost the local economy. “NDSP has and will significantly contribute to the overall economic activity and growth in Casselton through job creation, supporting local businesses, and driving sustained growth,” said Tom Malecha, NDSP president.

The ribbon-cutting will be followed by plant tours for local producers and a public open house.
