CARRINGTON – The 2024 Class B 13-15 Babe Ruth State Tournament continued on Saturday in Carrington.

Elimination Game: Hatton-Northwood 4 Rugby 3

The Thunder picked up their first ever state tournament win as a co-op by eliminating Rugby 4-3.  Hatton-Northwood scored three runs on seven hits in the second inning to take a lead they would protect as Thunder pitching stranded ten Rugby baserunners over the course of the game to advance to Sunday.

Elimination Game: Burlington 14 Carrington 2

The Bulldogs broke open a 3-2 game with an 11-run seventh inning to advance to Sunday.  Collin Abernathy tossed 4.1 innings of one-hit ball and the Burlington pitching staff struck out twelve Redbirds in the win.

1-0 Game: Kindred 8, LaMoure 3

Kindred took control of the game with three runs in each of the first and fourth innings. Catcher Graham Hesse had three hits, two RBI, and picked off a runner at first base. Brody Johnson added two hits and two RBI for the Vikings.
Logan Potts hit a two-run single in a three-run sixth inning for LaMoure.

1-0 Game: Beulah defeated Park River, forfeit

Park River was forced to forfeit when it was ruled that the Pirates were using three ineligible players, even though the same players apparently played in Park River’s win over Carrington in the first round on Friday.
Park River was leading Beulah 2-1 at the end of five innings when the ruling was made. Park River immediately protested, but their appeal was denied.
