
NEW ROCKFORD- A three-run bottom of the second inning held up as Carrington Post 25 held off a late charge to win their second consecutive Class B District IV Championship with a 4-3 win over Linton-Ashley-Wishek on Wednesday night.
With the game scoreless in the second, Max Whitman led off with a single, Peyton Harrington entered as a runner and stole second. With two outs Josh Bickett delivered an opposite-field RBI single for a 1-0 lead. Jack Erickson then doubled and Grady Shipman was intentionally walked, setting up Hudson Schmitz to deliver a two-run infield single for a 3-0 lead.
Post 25 (17-4) added a run in the fourth on a Shipman sacrifice fly, scoring Bickett again for a 4-0 lead. The Rattlers scored a run in the sixth and two with two out in the seventh but starter Kael Kovar got Marshall Lindgren to hit a comebacker to finish the complete game, allowing eight hits but only one earned run to earn the victory.
