NEW ROCKFORD- The 2024 Class B District IV Legion Tournament continued Tuesday with the completion of Monday’s game and three originally schedule games.
Game One: (1) Carrington 3 (4) Sheyenne-New Rockford 2
An error by second baseman Skye Kramlich scored Jack Erickson with the go-ahead run in the fifth as Carrington erased a deficit and secured a 3-2 win to advance to a semifinal. Hudson Schmitz tossed 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win and Kael Kovar earned the save.
Elimination Game: (4) Sheyenne-New Rockford 4 (3) Kidder County 0
Left hander Keaton Cudworth tossed a five-hit shutout and struck out eight as the Black Sox stayed alive with a 4-0 win. Brody Weisenberger and Luke Yri had RBIs for Sheyenne-New Rockford. Blake Binder tossed a complete game for the Wolves in the loss.
Semifinal: (1) Carrington 5 (2) Linton-Ashley-Wishek 3
Grady Shipman carried a no-hitter into the sixth and Carrington survived a late Rattler rally for a 5-3 win. Jack Erickson reached four times and scored twice and Hudson Schmitz and Max Whitman each drove in a pair in the win.
Semifinal: (2) Linton-Ashley-Wishek 7 (4) Sheyenne-New Rockford 3
The Rattlers scored in every inning after the first as they advanced to the District IV final with a 7-3 with over the Black Sox. Berkley Frantz tossed a complete game and had the go-ahead RBI triple in the third inning for Linton-Ashley-Wishek.
