Mildred Hoffmann, Medina, ND passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Eventide Jamestown with her granddaughter at her side at the age of 99.
Mildred was born May 27, 1925 at Medina, ND to J.B. and Sophie (Trautman) Eissinger. Mildred was baptized on December 20, 1925 at Kassel Country Congregational Church by Rev. Henry Hoersch. She was confirmed on June 16, 1940 at Congregational Church by Rev. Adolph Orman.
Mildred attended country school through 7th grade and then graduated from Medina High School in 1943. Mildred taught at country schools for seven years in Valley Springs, Losco and Peterson Townships.
Mildred married Edwin D. Hoffmann on June 15, 1947, and they lived on the farm seven miles north of Medina. They had two sons and a daughter. Edwin passed away on February 27, 1982. Mildred remained on the farm until moving to Medina in 1988.
Mildred went to work at Medina Public School from March 1983 to 2010 as a teacher’s aide. She was 85 when she quit and was known as the best recess supervisor!
Mildred moved to Jamestown in 2017, living on her own until 2021, then moved to Edgewood Memory Care until February 2024 before becoming a resident of Eventide due to falls breaking both hips.
Mildred was a member of the United Church of Christ, Buzzin Dozen Homemakers Club, United Church of Christ Quilting. Liked to travel, read, and needle point.
Mildred is survived by her children, Craig (Deb) Hoffmann and Roxann (Jim) Nagel; grandchildren Angie, Emmy, Dustin, Sean and Landyn and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, son Mark, sisters Edna Bowman, Penny Smith, Lorraine Campagna and brother Rudolph Eissinger.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at United Church of Christ, Medina, ND. Interment will be in Medina Cemetery.
