LISBON, N.D. (NDHP) – One man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 32 in Lisbon on July 9th, 2024 at approximately 10:25 am at the intersection of Jackson Avenue in Lisbon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) said a 2024 Peterbilt semi-truck towing a 2019 Hyundai van trailer was northbound on Hwy. 32 and turning right (east) onto Jackson Avenue. A 2006 Schwinn motor scooter driven by 66-year-old Kevin Brummund of Lisbon had been following the Peterbilt northbound on Hwy. 32. When the Peterbilt began its right turn, the scooter attempted to pass the Peterbilt on the right and ran into the passenger side dual tires on the Peterbilt. The operator of the scooter, Kevin Brummund, was then struck by the Hyundai trailer. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 63-year-old driver of the Peterbilt, Joseph Brendel of Bismarck was not injured in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
