JAMESTWON- Grady Shipman homered twice, Hudson Schmitz homered and drove in five, and Carrington opened pool play of the Phil Brown Classic with a decisive 12-5 win over Cando Post 79 on Friday in Jamestown.

After each team scored an opening inning run, Post 25 scored five runs on three hits in the second and never looked back.  After Cando closed to within 6-4 in the fifth, Carrington (9-2) scored four more in the sixth for breathing room.

Shipman also tossed six innings, allowing four hits and five runs (one earned) while walking five and striking out eleven.
