Lisbon, ND (NewsDakota.com) – Wyatt Olson struck out 11 Oakes batters with Cam Opp striking out 3 more to earn the save as Lisbon Post 7 beat Oakes Post 36 3-2.

Lisbon started off the game by getting a run right away in the bottom of the 1st inning after Olson got an opening base hit and reached 2nd on a E7, advancing to 3rd on a wild pitch. He was driven home by Blaze Reinke to make it 1-0. Reinke would be caught stealing and the inning would come to a close.

Olson would strike out 2 batters in the 2nd but would give up a hit to Zade Heier. Olson would then have the Tornadoes go down in order in both the 3rd and 4th innings. Michael Hoistad would sit down Lisbon in order in the 2nd but give up 2 runs in the 3rd off of 2 hits including a triple by Reinke. Lisbon would lead 3-0 after 3.

Lisbon would get another chance to score runs in the 4th as they’d get the bases loaded in the 4th but strand them there. Oakes would then get their 1st two men on into scoring position in the 5th inning. Olson would then strike out Jace Fyre before walking Roerich to load the bases with 1 out. Thorpe would strike out before Throener would single in a run followed by a Titus walk to make it 3-2. Olson would then lock down and strike out Hoistad.

Oakes would get 1 more baserunner in the game as Olson pitched a shutdown 6th inning and Opp came in for the save in the 7th striking out the side to get clinch the 3-2 victory.

The winning pitcher was Wyatt Olson who went 6 IP giving up 2 runs, both earned, off of 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 11. Cam Opp got the save pitching 1 inning striking out 3. Michael Hoistad got the loss going 6 IP giving up 3 runs, 2 earned runs, off of 7 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6.
