VALLEY CITY, N.D. (VCPR) – Valley City Parks and Recreation (VCPR) is excited to announce our upcoming July Celebration! Join us in celebrating National Parks and Recreation month by participating in any of our exciting events and activities during July. With fun for all ages, the July Celebration offers endless opportunities to take part in parks and recreation while also embracing the spirit of Summer! As the month approaches, here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:
1. City Park Block Party- Get out to City Park for a night of business booths, games, music activities, and a free-will donation walking taco meal to top it off! Also look forward to our door prize giveaway! Date: July 1, 2024 Time: 5:30 – 7:30 PM Location: City Park, Valley City, ND
2. BBQ Pulled Pork Cookoff- Watch Valley City businesses go head-to-head during a pulled pork cook-off! Enjoy the delicious food and head over to Summer Nights on Central. Date: July 11, 2024 Time: 4:30 PM Location: Central Avenue, Valley City, ND
3. Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament- Get your teams together for some co-ed volleyball! This sand volleyball tournament will be held at Chautauqua Park at the newly renovated sand volleyball courts. Date: July 13, 2024 Time: 9:00 AM Location: Chautauqua Park, Valley City, ND
4. City Park Pickleball Tournament- Come watch or compete against the top pickleball talent in the region. This Tournament is a doubles tournament for all level Pickleball players but will be a competitive based tournament. Date: July 19th, 2024

5. VCPR Foundation Golf Scramble- The VCPR Foundation 4-Person Golf Scramble will feature food, hole prizes, and more that will directly benefit the VCPR Foundation’s mission to provide accessible parks and recreation opportunities to all
members of our community through their scholarship program and other campaigns. Date: July 26, 2024 Time: All Day

6. Safety in the Park- Join the Valley City/Barnes County first responders at the annual Safety in the Park event! Featuring games, music, a free will donation meal, prizes, and the area’s first responder vehicles and equipment. Ask questions and get to know the people who keep our community safe! Date: July 26, 2024 Time: 4:30 – 6:00 PM Location: Chautauqua Park, Valley City, ND
Weekly you can find other activities include outdoor yoga (Mondays at 6:00 PM) as well as Outdoor Aquafit (Tuesdays at 6:00 PM) and free kids golf mornings at Bjornson Golf Course (Tuesdays from 7:00 AM – Noon – 16 and under). Experience excitement and fun as we celebrate parks and recreation all month long!
