Fairmount, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Post 36 Tornadoes kept up the momentum as they started their 4 game road stretch with a 14-3 victory over Fairmount Post 106 to sweep the season series.

Oakes got the ball rolling scoring 3 runs off of 2 hits in the first inning. Fairmount would score a run off of 4 hits before stranding the bases loaded. Oakes would then score 5 more runs in the 2nd inning off of 3 hits to extend their lead to 8-1. Fairmount would score a run in response in the bottom half of the 2nd inning to make it 8-2.

No runs would be scored again till the bottom half of the 5th inning when Fairmount would score an unearned run to make it 8-3. Oakes would then put the game away in the 6th inning scoring 6 runs off of 1 hit and a bunch of walks to take a 14-3 lead which would be the final score after 6 innings of play.

The winning pitcher was James Throener who went the distance throwing all 6 innings giving up 3 runs of which 2 were earned off of 6 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7. The loss goes to Jackson Steffens who went 1 inning giving up 8 runs, 7 earned, off 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Jace Fyre who went 2/3 scoring once with 4 rBI’s and 2 doubles.
