JAMESTOWN – Charlie Kalbrener and Fargo Post 2 left the Jamestown Eagles in a daze Tuesday.
Kalbrener drove in 13 runs in a doubleheader sweep as Post 2 took 14-0 and 16-1 victories over the Eagles at Jack Brown Stadium.
Game 1: Fargo Post 2 14, Jamestown 0 (5)
After two scoreless innings, Fargo Post 2 broke the game open with five runs in the second inning. Kalbrener drove in the first of the five with a sacrifice fly. Jaxon Beiswenger brought in two runs with a single.
Wyatt Kosidowski and Kalbrener each had two-run doubles in a nine-run fourth inning.
Kalbrener finished with four RBI.
10 walks were issued by pitchers for Jamestown (4-7, 1-6 AA). Jaxon Kolpin (0-1) took the loss.
Game 1: Fargo Post 2 16, Jamestown 1 (5)
Kalbrener drove in nine more runs, including hitting grand slams in the third and fourth innings. Adam Leininger also hit a grand slam in the second inning.
The only run for Jamestown (4-8, 1-7) came on an error by Fargo Post 2 in the bottom of the fourth.
Eagles pitchers issued 11 more walks. Tyson Jorissen (1-1) took the defeat.
