JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) — Law enforcement agencies across North Dakota will begin an intensified enforcement period to crack down on speeding and aggressive driving from July 1 through August 15 as part of the “Speeding Slows You Down” campaign.

The campaign aims to enforce speed limits and remove aggressive drivers from the roads. Speeding and aggressive driving include behaviors such as driving too fast for conditions, following other vehicles too closely, and operating a vehicle in a reckless, negligent, or aggressive manner.

“The speed limit is a boundary that separates chaos from order on the road. Take personal responsibility, adhere to the speed limit and let every mile be a testament to your dedication to fostering a safe and controlled driving environment,” said Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger.

Preliminary data from 2023 indicates that speeding was a factor in 25% of fatal crashes in North Dakota, highlighting the critical need for this enforcement effort.
