Oakes. ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Post 36 Tornadoes continued to be undefeated from home this season as they beat Enderlin Post 221 by a score of 12-2 in 6 innings.

James Throener was throwing well for the Tornadoes as he would only give up 1 hit to start the game, a leadoff double in the first, recording 9 straight outs till the 4th inning. Oakes would score 1 run off of 1 hit in the first and leave the bases loaded in that inning. They would score again in third after back-to-back triples by Chris Titus and Michael Hoistad and a single by Cooper Quandt to take a 3-0 lead after 3.

Enderlin would then get their first to men on in the 4th and get both of them into scoring position with no outs. Throener would then get his 5th strikeout of the day before issuing a walk to load up the bases. Throener would not be daunted though as he would get Gabe Hoy to ground into a fielders choice at 1st to maintain the shutout before striking out Gabe Gruba to end the inning leaving the bases loaded. Oakes would then score 4 runs on 2 hits with 3 runs coming with 2 outs to take a 7-0 lead through 4.

The 6th inning is when Enderlin would score two runs off of 2 hits in the top of the 6th to make it 7-2 but Throener would again pitch out of a jam with the bases load with no outs getting 3 straight outs. Oakes would then end the game scoring 5 runs off of 1 hit to win 12-2.

The winning pitcher was James Throener going 6 IP giving 5 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs both earned and struck out 10 earning himself the Bank North Player of the Game. Orien Adargo 5 IP giving up 7 hits, 3 walks, and 7 runs all earned while striking out 6.
