Game One: Minot 11 – 2 Renville County

The Metros bounced back after their one-run outing against the Carrington Redbirds by pounding out 11 runs on ten hits. The Metros also played some solid defense, only committing one error through seven innings. Renville County managed four hits on the day, but their four fielding errors gifted the Metros far too many opportunities.

Game Two: Valley City 15 – 5 Jamestown

The Jamestown Blues raced out an early 4-0 lead after Royals starter James Schwehr had trouble finding the strike zone, hitting seven batters through the first three innings of play. The Royals, however, would utilize aggressive baserunning to initiate their comeback, finishing with a season-high in stolen bases, as timely hitting by Jack Samuelson propelled the Hi-Liners to a 7-5 lead at the end of the fourth. The game wouldn’t make it past the 5th as the Hi-Liner erupted for eight runs in the frame to initiate the 10-run mercy rule.

Game Three: Grafton 13 – 3 Carrington

Grafton’s Tony Villareal was a one-man wrecking crew dominating on both the mound and in the batter’s box. Villareal finished the game with nine strikeouts and drove in seven runs, including a three-run home run in the third inning. Owen Hagel and Kyle Johnson would finish with RBIs for Carrington, but the Spoilers ultimately pushed across the winning run in the sixth inning off an RBI double.

Game Four: Edgley 9 – 6 Park River

After both teams exchanged a pair of scoreless innings the Park River Pirates would take an early 1-0 lead after scraping across a run in the bottom of the third. Edgley, though, would waste no time as they struck for seven runs in the top of the fourth off Park River starter Jake Solseng. Edgley would tack on two more runs in the top of the 7th, taking a 9-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th. The Pirates pushed across six runs in the bottom of the frame but struck out with the tying run at the plate.
