JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Downtown Association held the 9th Annual Rods & Hogs Event Saturday, June 8th on 1st
Avenue.
The event featured Classic Cars, Trucks, Bikes and Rat Rods as well as displays by Jamestown Drag Racing
Association, Jamestown Mystics, Stutsman Harley Davidson, Dale’s Auto Mall and More, Wilhelm
Huntington Disease Fundraiser and more.
Doodling Dixies and Hogtime BBQ offered up some awesome culinary treats and the Corner Bar hosted
the annual street dance with the band 8th Hour on the stage.
After a most enjoyable day, awards were presented at 4 pm as follows:
The Best Bike Trophy and $100 Cash, sponsored by Stutsman Harley Davidson, went to Dave Schmidt
with his 2007 Harley Davidson Fat Boy. 2nd place and $50 cash went to Aaron Nogosek and his Bar Stool
Cart. 3rd place and $25 cash to Jody Purvis’s Mini Chopper.
The Best Truck Trophy and $100 Cash, sponsored by Wilhelm Chevy GMC and S & R Truck Plaza, was
awarded to Cody Royce and his 1979 K30 Chevy Square Body. 2nd place and $50 cash went to Kylen Heidt and
his 1997 Chevy and 3rd place and $25 went to Craig Headland and his 1972 Ford.
The Best Car Trophy and $100 Cash, sponsored by Dale’s Auto Mall and More, was presented to Savy
Cloose and her 1965 Chevy Impala Convertible. 2nd place and $50 cash went to Les Specht and his 1974
Roadrunner Challenger and 3rd place and $25 went to Mike Monger with his 1978 Chevy Caprice.
The Best Rat Rod Trophy and $100 Cash, sponsored by West End Metal and Klein’s Collision Center, was
judged to be Paul Spitzer’s 1959 Oliver-Steiger-John Deere “FarmRod”. 2nd place and $50 cash went to Rod
Johnson and his 1931 Plymouth. 3rd place and $25 went to Keith Veil and his 1923 Red Street Rod.
The People’s Choice Award, sponsored by RM Stoudt Ford, Dodge, Jeep and Pit Stop Sports was
awarded to Paul Spitzer and his 1959 “FarmRod”, a very unique Oliver-Steiger-John Deere creation in its
first ever show.
