GRAND FORKS – First rain, then wind, made for a tough two days for Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Golf.
The Blue Jays finished ninth in the NDHSAA Class A Boys Golf Tournament, which concluded Wednesday at Kings Walk Golf Course.
Rain permeated Tuesday’s round, then Wednesday’s round was marred by winds that gusted as high as 45 miles per hour.
As a team, the Blue Jays shot 677. Hunter Gegelman was best with 167 (85-82). At 171 were Jace Dillman (83-88) and Camron Andersen (86-85). Vaughn Romsdal had 173 (89-84). Nate Walz carded 175 (91-84). Luke LeFevre shot 178 (88-90).
Grand Forks Red River won its 13th team state championship with 623, four shots better than Fargo North.
Fargo North’s Carston Hannestad was the medalist at 144.
