LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Benedictine Living Community-LaMoure has announced plans for its inaugural golf tournament aimed at benefiting local seniors. The First-Annual Glow Golf Tournament Fundraiser is set to take place on Friday evening, June 28, at Memorial Park Country Club in LaMoure.
Individuals, businesses, and groups are encouraged to mark their calendars for this unique event, which promises an evening of fun and philanthropy. Participants, sponsors, and donors are all invited to take part.
The event schedule begins with a silent auction at 5 p.m., followed by the first 9 holes of golf at 6 p.m. Awards and prizes will be distributed at 8 p.m., with dinner served at 8:30 p.m. The final 9 holes will commence at sunset, featuring illuminated golf carts and balls for a striking visual effect.
The tournament will be an 18-hole scramble format with teams of four, limited to 20 teams. Participants must be 21 years or older. The entry fee is $400 per team, covering green fees, a glow ball, dinner, and a swag bag for each player. Carts are not included in the registration fee but must be lit up for safety. Players are encouraged to decorate their carts and wear glow-themed attire, with prizes awarded for the best-lit cart and best-dressed golfer.
Sponsorship opportunities range from $300 to $1,000, offering benefits such as complimentary tournament registration, signage at one of the holes, recognition on social media and promotional materials, and the chance to include promotional items in swag bags and the silent auction. Sponsorships are open to businesses, groups, organizations, and individuals.
Proceeds from the event will support the purchase of a new handicap-accessible van, enhancing the comfort, safety, and convenience for residents of Benedictine LaMoure. The van will play a crucial role in providing transportation for social activities, medical appointments, and outings, which are vital to the quality of life for the residents.
Benedictine LaMoure has been serving older adults from the LaMoure area and across the state for 52 years, offering long-term skilled nursing care, short-term care and rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, assisted living, veterans’ services, respite care, and end-of-life care.
