JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has announced that Trisha Jungels, Chief Nursing Officer, has been named the 2023 DAISY Nurse Leader of the Year by the DAISY Foundation. This accolade honors Jungels for her exceptional leadership and dedication to compassionate, patient-centered care.
“Trisha is an inspiring leader who brings out the best in our nursing team. Her passion for excellence in patient care and support for nursing staff is evident in all she does,” said Mike Delfs, JRMC President and CEO. “This award is a testament to her leadership and the positive impact she has on our patients, staff, and community.”
Jungels, who has been with JRMC since 2016, oversees nursing practices and standards at the medical center. She has implemented initiatives like comfort rounds, bedside shift reports, and nurse residency programs to enhance patient experiences. Jungels has also emphasized leadership development through mentorship and education.
“Trisha is an amazing leader and lives JRMC’s mission, vision, and standards in her everyday life,” said Lesley Erlandson, HR Manager. “She is a leader that employees look up to and are comfortable with.”
With over 15 years of experience in nursing leadership, Jungels holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Mary. Under her guidance, JRMC has earned numerous accolades for nursing excellence and patient satisfaction.
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from the North Dakota Hospital Association,” Jungels said. “The nursing team at JRMC is second to none. I am privileged to work alongside them in providing compassionate care to our community.”
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award, an extension of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses established in 1999, recognizes nurse leaders who inspire and motivate their teams while demonstrating a commitment to patient-centered care.
