JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Pat Walter, a physician assistant specializing in orthopedics, has been named the latest recipient of the Legend Award, Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) announced recently. The Legend Award is the highest honor given to JRMC employees, recognizing those who exceed expectations and make significant impacts in the lives of those they serve.

Walter, who holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology, was nominated by orthopedic nurses Deb Reimers, Sarah Seefeldt, Shannon Hagan, and Wendy Widman. In their nomination, they praised Walter as a provider who is “always generous, selfless, kindhearted and makes a profound impact on all people.”

Joining JRMC in 2016, Walter has become a cornerstone of the orthopedics team. Known for his extensive knowledge, leadership, and supportive nature, he is often referred to as the team’s “go-to” person. His colleagues highlighted his willingness to listen and offer assistance, noting that he never considers himself too busy to help.

Walter’s commitment extends beyond his immediate team. He is recognized for spending considerable time with each patient, ensuring they understand their conditions and treatment plans. He collaborates with colleagues to secure the best possible outcomes for his patients, reducing their stress and enhancing their care.

Specialty Clinic Manager Mercede Fiebiger also commended Walter, stating, “He is incredibly deserving. Our community is fortunate to have Pat so close to provide encompassing and holistic orthopedic care.”

The Legend Award, established in 2012, aims to inspire and motivate JRMC employees by highlighting those who make extraordinary efforts for their patients and colleagues. Since its inception, more than 48 individuals have been named Legends, with nearly 150 nominations. Employees across the 350-member medical center team participate in the nomination and voting process for the award.

JRMC officials emphasize that the Legend Award helps employees and volunteers reconnect with the sense of purpose that brought them to the organization, celebrating the moments that define JRMC’s commitment to excellent care.
