The 2024 Class B Region III Baseball Tournament began Monday at Kidder County High School in Steele, ND with Quarterfinal Games:

#3 New Rockford-Sheyenne 8 #2 Kidder County 1

Connor Knatterud dominated through six shutout innings and the Black Sox defeated the Wolves 8-1.  A six-run sixth inning broke open a 2-0 game after Kidder County starter Isaiah Oster (5 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, BB, 3 K) left the game.  Luke Yri was 3-for-4 with 3 RBI in the win.

#1 Carrington 4 #5 LaMoure-LM 1

Grady Shipman struck out 16 and Corbin Clifton homered as the top-seeded Cardinals beat the Loboes for the first time in three tries in 2024.  Shipman went 6 2/3 and allowed five hits and one unearned run in the win.

ELIMINATION GAME: #4 South Border 13 #2 Kidder County 4

A twelve-run fifth inning turned a pitchers duel into a one-sided affair as the Mustangs eliminated the host Wolves.  Berkley Frantz hit a solo HR in the fourth to tie the game and after Kidder County re-took the lead in the bottom half, the Mustangs scored 12 runs on four hits, punctuated by a grand slam by Connor Kosiak, to put the game away.
