JAMESTOWN – Luke Anderson hopes he can again revitalize Jamestown Blue Jay Boys Basketball.
Anderson is the Blue Jays’ new head coach, as announced Friday. This will be Anderson’s second stint with JHS. The first was of three seasons from 2014-17. In the 2016-17 season, he led Jamestown to the state Class A tournament, the program’s first state appearance since 2003.
Anderson also serves as the principal for William S. Gussner Elementary School.
In a press release, JHS Athletic Director Jim Roaldson said, “Luke brings a lot of experience to the position with an understanding of what it takes to be successful in the highly competitive WDA. We are excited to see what he can do with the nucleus of players that are returning from last year’s team.”
Anderson replaces Jason Carroll, who was 7-16 in his one season as head coach.
