PETERSBURG- For a second consecutive game, Cardinal baseball scored ten runs in the first two innings as they finished off the regular season with an easy 13-1 five-inning win on Thursday over the Knights.
Grady Shipman had two doubles, two runs, and four RBI to lead a balanced attack as four players (Shipman, Corbin Clifton, Owen Hagel, and Jake Otto) all had multi-hit, multi-run, multi-RBI games for the offense as they pounded thirteen hits in the game.
On the mound, Josh Bickett tossed three innings, allowing two hits and an unearned run to pick up the win. Clifton tossed the final two innings and did so without allowing a hit.
Carrington (10-9) will shift the focus to the 2024 Region III Tournament, as they will face LaMoure-LM on Monday at 12:30 PM in Steele after the Loboes defeated South Border 9-2 Thursday night in Wishek. Coverage of the Region III Tournament on Thunder 98.3 begins at 9:45 AM on Monday.
