WASHINGTON, D.C. (NewsDakota.com) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has revealed its Fiscal Year 2024 work plan, earmarking over $27 million for infrastructure initiatives and maintenance in North Dakota.

Notably, the plan includes $2.85 million for Mott’s Water and Sewer System Improvement Project under the Army Corps Section 594 Program.

Senator Cramer emphasized the importance of this program for local communities and celebrated its restoration in this year’s funding. He played a pivotal role in reauthorizing the Section 594 Program, enabling North Dakota to receive $11 million in the recent appropriations package.

In addition to the Mott project, significant annual operation and maintenance funding has been allocated:

$19.81 million for Garrison Dam, Lake Sakakawea
$2.27 million to Lake Ashtabula and Baldhill Dam
$777,000 to Pipestem Lake
$389,000 to Souris River
$352,000 to Bowman Haley Lake
$330,000 to Homme Lake
$377,000 for O&M works inspection
$285,000 for northern boundary waters surveillance
$143,000 for reservoir operations scheduling

The allocations for Baldhill and Pipestem dams also include funds to update their water control manuals, a directive stemming from WRDA 2022, championed by Senator Cramer to address new conditions and the Red River Valley Water Supply Project.
