Mary was born in Jamestown to Donald and Bernice Lawrence August 21st, 1944, one of 7 children. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1962 and then attended Bismarck Junior College. While living in Bismarck ND she met and married Siegfried Winger and they had 2 daughters together.
She was a hard worker, working for Edling Electric and MedCenter One before moving to Dickinson ND with her long-time partner Michael Kuchenski. She took great pride and joy in her beautiful flowerbeds and loved to watch the birds and squirrels at the feeders she provided. Our favorite memories with her were spent on her patio enjoying her world with her.
She was very artistic and crafty, she was well known for the intricate personalized cards she made with pure love for every birthday and holiday. She also had a passion for quilting and was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s singing group.
Mary was a sweet, tender-hearted, kind and fun person who always had a smile on her face and just wanted to see the beauty in everything and everyone. Mom, you leave a tremendous hole in all of our lives and we all miss you so much! As your Grandson said so perfectly, “she was a Blessing until the very end”.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Bernice Lawrence, her brother Don “Al” Lawrence and her sister Patricia Lawrence.
She is survived by her daughters Jodi Winger, Utah and Dawn Mull, ND, Grandson Jacob Hennings, Utah, sisters June Nagel, CA and Jane Ketterling, MN, brothers William Lawrence, MN and George Lawrence, CO, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Memorial donations may be given to her favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
