JAMESTOWN – It may have been a non-conference game, but Makenna Nold still gave Jamestown Blue Jay Softball a nice lift one day before a crucial doubleheader.

Nold hit a three-run game-winning home run in the bottom of the seventh inning Monday to give Jamestown a 9-6 win over Kindred/Richland at Trapper Lawrence Field.

After Kindred/Richland rallied from a 4-0 first-inning deficit to take a 6-4 lead with two runs in the top of the sixth, Jamestown (16-9) then scored two runs in their half of the sixth on an RBI single by Avery Graves and a tying double by Jordan Mikkelson.

Lizzie Nihill started the seventh-inning rally with a bunt single.  With one out, Maddie Hoff singled.  Then, with two out, Nold hit her team-leading eighth home run over the right field fence.

Graves drove in four runs.  She hit a three-run double after Lucy Falk had an RBI single in the first inning.

Nold earned her eighth win with three scoreless innings in relief, striking out eight.

On Tuesday, the Blue Jays will host their final WDA doubleheader of the regular season against Dickinson at Trapper Lawrence Field.  Jamestown may need at least one win and possibly two to avoid playing in the WDA play-in game next Monday.
