FARGO – Jamestown Blue Jay baseball, venturing out of WDA play for the first time this season, was swept in a doubleheader Thursday at Davies High School 11-10 and 7-3.
Game 1: Davies 11, Jamestown 10 (8)
Ashton Rinas hit a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning as Davies rallied from a 9-5 deficit to win.
Jamestown (3-8) had a 9-5 lead before Davies scored four runs in the home seventh. Kaiden Hakanson had given the Blue Jays a 10-9 lead with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth.
Jaxon Beiswenger tied the game for Davies in the eighth at 10-10 with an RBI single before Rinas’ winning hit.
Tyson Jorissen had three hits and a stolen base for Jamestown. Ethan Oettle, Brody Wolff and Thomas Newman each drove in two runs.
Jaden Prochnow (0-1) took the loss in relief.
Game 2: Davies 7, Jamestown 3 (5)
Rinas, Gus Pankratz and Cayden Neuharth each drove in two runs as the Eagles completed the sweep.
Oettle and Braxton Perkins both walked with the bases loaded in a two-run fifth inning for Jamestown (3-9).
Starting pitcher Tyson Jorissen (0-1) allowed three runs in two innings.
Jamestown will return to WDA play with a doubleheader against Bismarck St. Mary’s at Haaland Field Saturday. Coverage will begin at 11:45 AM on Thunder 98.3.
