MANDAN – One close loss and one that wasn’t continued Blue Jay baseball frustration on Friday.
Jamestown was swept in a doubleheader by Mandan 5-4 and 16-1 at Veterans Memorial Ballpark, extending the Blue Jays’ losing streak to seven games.
Mandan 5, Jamestown 4
Mandan scored the winning run with two out in the bottom of the seventh after Jamestown (1-6, 1-6 WDA) had tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh.
Brody Wolff drove in two runs for Jamestown.
Mandan 16, Jamestown 1
Mandan scored eight runs in the first inning, knocking out starter Wolff after he recorded just two outs.
Owen Brincks tripled and drove in three runs for Mandan.
Braxton Perkins drove in the only run for Jamestown (1-7, 1-7) with a fourth inning triple.
Jamestown will host Watford City Saturday at Jack Brown Stadium.
