WATFORD CITY – A long road trip began with a lot of runs for Jamestown Softball.
The Blue Jays waltzed past Watford City Friday in a 24-1 and 21-2 doubleheader sweep at Koeser Field.
Jamestown 24, Watford City 1
Addie Graves homered, doubled twice and drove in seven runs to pace the offense for Jamestown (12-5, 8-3). Jordan Mikkelson and Makenna Nold each had two hits and two RBI. Sophia Bond had a hit, three walks and two RBI.
Nold (6-2) struck out 12 while pitching a two-hitter.
Jamestown 21, Watford City 2
There was another seven-RBI game for Jamestown (13-5, 9-3), this time by Nold. She homered twice and also walked twice. Marissa Moltzen and Brooke Jackson both doubled and drove in three runs.
Maddie Hoff (6-2) struck out five and allowed four hits.
Jamestown will play a doubleheader Saturday at Williston.
