HANKINSON, N.D. (NDHP) – 34-year-old Justin Pond of Milbank, South Dakota was driving a Mack truck pulling a gravel trailer traveling westbound on Richland County Hwy 21 about 2 miles southwest of Hankinson.

The Highway Patrol said Pond failed to correctly negotiate a curve on the roadway near 94th 1⁄2 Ave SE and entered the north ditch. When entering the ditch the truck/trailer rolled onto its roof. Pond sustained serious, but none-life-threatening injuries from the crash and was transported by ambulance to the Sanford Hospital. Pond was cited for failing to maintain his lane of travel.

North Dakota Highway Patrol was assisted by the Richland County Sheriff Office and by members of the Hankinson Fire Department and Ambulance.
